Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
.
Can you believe it's 2011?  I'm having a hard time believing that Christmas is over and we are on to a new year.
.
My sister and I spent a wonderful and relaxing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our Mom and then headed out on the 26th to Arizona to see our Dad, brother, and Grandpa.

.
When we arrived in AZ the temps were in the mid 60s.  By the end of the week the highs were in the upper 30s!  We even saw snow for a few minutes.  It was pretty strange.
.
.
We had our fourth annual gingerbread making contest.  This year we were short on time so we purchased pre-made gingerbread kits.
.

.
Last, but not least, today is my baby sister's 27th birthday.
.
Happy Birthday Kristen!

I hope you have a great birthday Beege.  I love you and I thank God everyday for giving me a sister.  No matter how old you are, you will always be the Baby Girl in our family.  You were worth the seven long years of waiting for a sibling!
.

.
I hope your new year is off to a great start.  Here's to a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2011!

This year I had friends over for gingerbread house decorating - with pre-made kits too. A couple of friends bought the same ones you have, with the little base tray, and they both had problems with their houses falling apart! I hope you had better luck!

Looks like you guys had a great time! I was talking to a friend in Phoenix last week and she said everyone was freezing! It was actually 30 degrees warmer in Kansas than in Phoenix. Talk about bizarre!
