Craigslist Table: Finally Painted

.
I have finally finished my Craigslist table!  I debated over painting it a bold, bright color, but in the end I went with my trusty standby, Krylon Dover White.  I love the bright pop of white - my living room really needed it I think.
.
Here's a before photo, I just love all the detail in the table.

Another before shot:

Before painting, I used this primer by Valspar.

And here's what it looks like right now in my living room:

I still haven't added any accessories.  I sort of got sick of everything in my living room and took it all out and am slowly bringing things back in.  The bare look is actually sort of refreshing.  I was so sick of all my pillows that I sold them at a garage sale we had in May.  I have fabric to make news ones...I just need to find some time and get sewing.  I am going to attempt to add zippers to the pillows.  Anyone have any good tips or know of helpful tutorials?

In other news, today is my Dad's 60th Birthday - Happy birthday Dad!

I couldn't resist adding a few photos...

  1. Hi Alissa,
I love love love what you did with your craigslist table, defintiely did a great job on it. Taking spray paint to a piece of furniture or even picture frames is a quick and easy way to spruce up one's living space. Look forward to more projects you post here!

  12. Did you sand at all or just prime and paint? I would love to paint a cabinet of mine but really don't want to have to sand it.....

  14. Looks fantastic! As for zippers, sewing an invisible zipper is easy. I just found some tutorials on You Tube, I found video format most helpful! Easy peasy though. What is hard is piping AND an invisible zipper, that takes patience!

  15. Alissa, your table is stunning in white! I love it in that spot with the white lamp. I really want to pare down my stuff too. I think I will try your idea of taking it all out and bringing in only what I love. Happy Birthday to Dad!

  26. Love your table.

In re your new pillows: The first side of ther pillow you should sew is the one with the zipper in it. Then open the zipper and sew the 3 other sides leaving the zipper side open. Check herehttp://www.craftynest.com/2009/03/easy-pillow-cover-with-zipper/
